THE SERIOUS PAGE

Safety disclaimer.

A car lift is the heaviest, highest-stakes tool that goes into a home garage. Read this once, fully — even if you skim every other page on this site.

Safety note. A 4,000 lb lift is anchored to your slab. Never substitute this site for the manufacturer's installation manual or a structural review. Concrete depth, rebar, and door header clearance must be verified on-site before installation.

What this site is

LiftFit Garage is a planning tool. The fitment calculator, the buying guides, and the comparison tables are intended to help you ask better questions before you buy. They are not a substitute for the manufacturer's installation manual, an in-person inspection of your slab, or a structural engineer's review.

Calculator results assume you measured correctly. We can't see your garage; we believe whatever you type. If your numbers are off, the result is off.

Before installation

Operation

Never operate a lift without engaging mechanical safety locks at the working height. Never leave a vehicle on hydraulics alone, regardless of duration. Never lift a vehicle whose GVWR exceeds the lift's rated capacity. Never modify a lift's arms, pads, or hydraulic components.

The 80% rule: if your vehicle is within 20% of the lift's rated capacity, you are at the upper end of acceptable use. Buy more lift than you need.
